Don't have Microsoft Office on your computer at home? Try these alternatives:
-
Google Drive: You can get to it two ways...
https://drive.google.com/, or Login to your Gmail account and click on "Drive" at the top.
Google Drive, formally Google Docs, to me, is the greatest thing since sliced bread. Just create a Gmail account (for FREE!), login, and click on "Drive" at the top of your inbox. You can CREATE documents, presentations, drawings, forms, and spreadsheets within Google Drive and download them as Microsoft Office documents, or you upload previously created Microsoft Office documents to Google Drive for storage and editing. You'll have access to your documents anywhere you have access to the Internet! No software needed. Another great thing is that you can share your documents with others so that you and your group members can all contribute to and edit documents you have created. -
OpenOffice: Download from http://www.openoffice.org/
OpenOffice comes with "OpenWriter - a word processor, OpenCalc - a spreadsheet and OpenImpress - a presentational package. " OpenOffice is compatible with Microsoft Office. For example if you want to type a paper, open up OpenWriter on your computer, type your paper, and then "Save As" a Microsoft Word document on your USB drive. Then, open up the document on a school computer using Microsoft Word.

Upload your Word, PowerPoint, Excel documents to an online PDF converter, and this website will convert the document on site, or you can choose to have the PDF emailed to you. No need to download any software, and the PDF documents created don't have any watermarks or advertisements. -
PrimoPDF: http://www.primopdf.com/
I use this tool quite often. Once you download PrimoPDF to your computer, it acts as a printer. When you are ready to convert a document, open the document on your computer and "print" it. When the printer window opens up, choose PrimoPDF as the destination printer, and your document will be converted to PDF. -
CutePDF Writer: http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp Another great PDF converter, a.k.a. "writer."
